SHAV Call for papers
2018 Annual Conference
March 21-24, 2018

Deadline for Professional Submission has expired.
Deadline for Student Poster Submission: December 1, 2017.

Annual Student Poster Contest - Each poster must have a student as a primary author. Any student that wishes to have their poster considered for judging and awards must submit by the deadline of December 1, 2017. Posters will be accepted after this date, but will not be considered for judging or awards. All Poster Presenters must be registered for the conference and wear their conference name badge while presenting.

Registration - Presenters who plan to participate in Conference events and/or attend sessions for CE credit are required to register for the SHAV Conference.  SHAV appreciates the time and effort it takes to prepare and present a session.  In recognition of this, a special presenter discount of $25  has been established.  This discount is applicable for two presenters per session.

Prior to submitting this form, please review your entry completely to insure all of the information requested has been provided. You will need to submit the following:

  • Speaker Disclosure for each Presenter
  • Email address for each Presenter
  • Bio and Credentials for each Presenter
  • Product Disclosure
  • Abstract
  • Presentation Summary
  • Learner Outcomes

Handouts:  SHAV will place presenter's handouts on the SHAV website prior to the conference. The deadline for submission of handouts is February 21, 2018.  

  • Handouts must be sent in an electronic format to the SHAV Office, shavoffice@shav.org  (hard copies and faxes cannot be accepted.) 
  • Omit unnecessary images and photos. Include only those relevant to the topic. If your presentation contains a large number of images resulting in a large file, we may find it necessary to convert your handouts to text only.
  • Handouts are limited to 20 pages
  • Presenters who do not provide handouts to SHAV prior to this date will be responsible for providing handouts to the attendees at their session.

Audiovisual Equipment Needs


Please read all of the information below concerning AV for your presentation to ensure SHAV and you are prepared for your presentation.

Important - Laptops are not provided - Please make arrangements to bring a computer for your presentations. SHAV will not be responsible for providing laptops on-site.

MAC Users - If you are planning to connect a MAC to an LCD projector, you must bring the appropriate cords to adapt your MAC to the projector cord. Facilities do not provide MAC adaptor cords. Please be prepared to connect to VGA and HDMI.

PC Users - If you have a newer PC (two-three years old) check to see if your port is VGA or HDMI. Please be prepared to connect to VGA and HDMI.

All rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector, with audio capabilities from your laptop, and one material table.

Presenter Information

SHAV understands that many proposals represent the work of several individuals.  In a few cases, all of the authors of the proposal cannot attend the conference. Please indicate below if one of the individual listed below will not be able to attend the conference.
